The Ozone Hole

And Pollution

Awwwww man... where'd my hamburger go? Oh. I ate it. What should I do with the wrapper?  Who cares. I'll throw it out the window. Oh no! My cigar burned out! Out the window it goes! Oh no! I need to change the oil in the car! Oh well. I mean, seriously? What can a little bit of litter and pollution do?

       Actually, it can do A LOT. The more you litter, and the more you pollute, the bigger the ozone hole gets. The ozone hole is a giant hole in the ozone.(duh...)  The ozone is a layer of the atmosphere(also a kind of gas) that protects the earth from major heat rays that come from the sun and keeps us from burning up! So, we need to preserve it. Here are some bad things that the ozone hole is doing: The tempature in Antarctica has gone up. and slight change in tempature can be horrible, because....... It will put monsters in your closet!!!Muhahahaha!(no)What it will really do is kill of animals, because the tempature isn't the tempature they evolved in-which will cause horrible mutations!!!!!(no again)

           

Oil Spills

    An oil spill is when a large oil tanker (ship that carries oil) is destroyed and all of the oil it was carrying is spilled out.  The oil is usually spread to shores and kills birds and crabs. The oil also kills lots of fish and other ocean populated animals like dolphins and whales. The Exxon Valdez was one of the biggest oil spills ever. It carried more than 10.8 million gallons of oil, and spread about 11,000 square miles. That's a GIGANTIC amount of oil and a lot of space.

The New Apartments

Once upon a time there was a lush, green forest that was crawling with nature. It was full of coyotes, rabbits, and catterpi- hay, is that a bulldozer?!?! Hmmmm..... sure is. And it's destroying the forest!!! It'll kill hundreds of wild animals! What could this be for, anyway?(goes to computer and does research) What?! There building apartments there!!!?? What a waste of landscape! They should build an ice cream parlor instead.(just kidding) But seriously. They shouldn't do that.(It's for real) It really will kill hundreds of animals. Because of that, I've sent a letter giving them a piece of mind. But that didn't stop them from building the apartments. And so, they did. But just because I wasn't able to make it, it doesn't mean you shouldn't try. If someone's building something that you think is wrong, send them a persuasive letter. It just might work.

The big blue circle is the ozone hole. It covers all of Antarctica!
